Minister Willis is a mentor for his community. He has participated in the "True Love Waits" initiative at
Prospect Missionary Baptist Church. This program encourages young men to abstain from pre-marital sex and to live
as men according to the Word of God. Following a vision, Minister Willis established an event entitled “Men of
Excellence”. This program showcases the musical talents of men in the local area. In 2007, the event drew
approximately 800 attendees. Not only do the “Men of Excellence” have musical talents, but they also adopt families
during the holidays, host speaking engagements and are ministers of the gospel.
Minister Willis believes in entrepreneurship. He is the owner of two businesses: W.M. Music, Incorporated and
Assurance Ministries. Both of these entities are vehicles to develop, produce, and distribute gospel music. Minister
Willis understands that he has been blessed with multiple gifts and he uses them to edify the people of God.
In 2003, Minister James A. Willis, Jr. was given a vision to assemble a group of 12 singers with a goal to reach the
nation through song. Minister Willis carefully constructed a group that touched the hearts of many throughout the
nation. This group ministered in area churches, Chicago, Dallas, and numerous other venues. When the group began,
it was simply known as Minister James A. Willis and Friends. After numerous transitions and much prayer by Minister
Willis, the Lord deposited a permanent name for this group in September of 2004: Minister James A. Willis and the Nu
Praze Chorale.
